Altaf Hussain Hali (18371914) was a renowned Urdu poet, playwright, and critic. He was born in Agra, India, in 1837, and was educated in Agra, Delhi, and Lucknow. He began writing poetry at a young age and his first work, MusaddaseHali, was published in 1879. Hali became a prominent figure in the Indian literary world, and his works were widely admired by his contemporaries.
